Why You Should Never Pay Outside of Kifgo's Checkout System
When you shop on Kifgo, our secure checkout system is designed to protect your financial information and guarantee that you get exactly what you paid for.
Occasionally, a seller might send you a message asking you to bypass Kifgo's checkout and pay them directly using a third-party service (like CashApp, Venmo, Western Union, or a direct bank wire transfer). You should never agree to this.
Here is why paying outside of Kifgo's checkout system is dangerous for buyers:
1. You Lose All Buyer Protection
If you purchase an item using Kifgo's secure checkout, your transaction is covered by the Kifgo Purchase Protection Program. This means that if the item never arrives or is broken in transit, Kifgo can step in and issue you a full refund.
If you pay a seller off-platform (like sending them cash on Venmo), Kifgo has no record of the transaction. If the seller takes your money and never ships the item, Kifgo cannot help you or refund your money.
2. It is a Common Scam Tactic
Scammers often lure buyers off-platform by offering a "special discount" or claiming that their Kifgo payment processing is "temporarily broken." Once you send the money via an untraceable wire transfer, the scammer will delete their account and disappear with your cash.
3. It Violates Kifgo's Terms of Use
To maintain a safe and trustworthy marketplace, our Terms of Use strictly prohibit "fee avoidance" and off-platform transactions.
Sellers who ask buyers to pay outside of Kifgo will have their shops permanently suspended.
Buyers who agree to participate in off-platform transactions may also lose their Kifgo account privileges.
What should I do if a seller asks me to pay elsewhere?
If a seller asks you to send them money via PayPal "Friends and Family," a direct bank transfer, or any other off-platform method, politely decline and do not complete the purchase.
You should immediately report the seller to our Trust & Safety team by clicking the "Report Message" link inside your inbox. Our team will investigate the shop to protect other buyers from potential fraud!
