How to Identify and Report a Scam on Kifgo

Our Trust & Safety team works around the clock to ensure that Kifgo remains a secure place to shop. However, just like on any large online marketplace, a bad actor may occasionally slip through.

Knowing how to identify a scam is the best way to protect yourself and other buyers. Here are the biggest red flags to watch out for, and how you can report them to our team.

🚩 Red Flag 1: Asking to Pay Off-Platform

This is the most common scam technique. A seller might message you and say, "I can give you a 20% discount if you pay me directly on PayPal or WhatsApp instead of using Kifgo's checkout." Never do this. If you pay outside of Kifgo, we cannot protect you, and the scammer will likely take your money without ever shipping the item.

🚩 Red Flag 2: Prices That Are "Too Good to Be True"

If you see a shop selling a "Brand New iPhone" or a "Vintage Rolex Watch" for $50, it is almost certainly a scam or a counterfeit item. Trust your instincts—if a deal seems impossibly cheap, do not buy it.

🚩 Red Flag 3: Asking for Personal Information

A legitimate Kifgo seller will never need your password, your credit card number, or your bank account routing number. The only information they need is your shipping address, which is automatically provided to them when you check out securely on the website.

🚩 Red Flag 4: Stolen or Generic Photos

Kifgo is a marketplace for unique, handmade, and vintage items. If a seller's photos look like blurry stock images from a major retail catalog, or if they have watermarks from another website, they likely do not actually own the item they are trying to sell.
