Sri Lanka Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules

Because Kifgo is based in Sri Lanka (kifgo.lk), we are committed to upholding the rights of our buyers as outlined by the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) of Sri Lanka and global best practices for E-Commerce.

When you shop on Kifgo, you are entitled to a safe, transparent, and fair shopping experience. Here is a summary of your rights as a consumer on our platform:

1. The Right to Clear and Accurate Information

Sellers on Kifgo are required to provide accurate, truthful descriptions of their items.

  • Listings must clearly state the materials used, the condition of the item (e.g., brand new vs. vintage), and accurate dimensions.

  • Misleading advertising or using photos that do not accurately represent the product is strictly prohibited.

2. Transparent Pricing

You have the right to know exactly what you are paying for before you complete a purchase.

  • The price displayed on the item listing must be clear.

  • Any additional costs, such as shipping fees or applicable taxes, must be clearly displayed on the checkout page before you are asked to confirm your payment. There are no hidden fees on Kifgo.

3. Delivery Guarantees

When you purchase an item, the seller is obligated to ship it within their stated "Processing Time" and provide you with an Estimated Delivery Date.

  • If a seller fails to ship the item, or if the item is lost in transit and does not arrive, you are entitled to a full refund under the Kifgo Purchase Protection Program.

4. The Right to Redress (Returns and Refunds)

If you receive an item that is damaged, defective, or significantly different from the seller's description, you have the right to seek a remedy.

  • We always encourage buyers to contact the seller first to request a replacement or a refund.

  • If the seller refuses to comply with their own stated return policies, or if they refuse to refund a defective item, Kifgo Support will step in to mediate the dispute and issue a refund on the seller's behalf.

Contacting the Consumer Affairs Authority

While Kifgo's internal Support Team and Purchase Protection Program can resolve almost all buyer disputes quickly, consumers in Sri Lanka also have the right to file formal complaints regarding unfair trade practices directly with the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA).
