Understanding Your Kifgo Username, Shop Name, and Display Name

When you create a Kifgo account, you might notice there are a few different names associated with your profile. To help keep things clear, here is a breakdown of the differences between your Username, your Display Name (Preferred Name), and your Shop Name.

1. Your Kifgo Username

Your username is a unique, automatically generated identifier created when you sign up.

  • Who sees it? Generally, your username is used internally by Kifgo's system.

  • Can I change it? No. Because usernames are permanent system identifiers, they cannot be changed once the account is created.

2. Your Display Name (Preferred Name)

Your Display Name is exactly what it sounds like—the name that is displayed publicly on the Kifgo platform.

  • Who sees it? Everyone! This is the name other users will see when you leave a product review, post in a community forum, or interact with a shop.

  • Can I change it? Yes, you can change your Display Name at any time!

  • How to change it:

    1. Go to your Account Settings.

    2. Navigate to your Public Profile.

    3. Enter your preferred name in the Display Name or Full Name field.

    4. Click Save Changes.

3. Your Shop Name (For Sellers Only)

If you decide to start selling your handmade or vintage items on Kifgo, you will be asked to choose a Shop Name.

  • Who sees it? This represents your business. It is the name that appears at the top of your shop page and on all your product listings.

  • Can I change it? Yes, but with some restrictions. You can change your Shop Name a limited number of times to ensure buyers don't get confused.

  • How to change it: You can update this by going to your Shop Manager > Settings > Info & Appearance.

Summary: Think of your Display Name as who you are as a person, and your Shop Name as your business brand!
