How and Why Kifgo Scans and Reviews Messages

At Kifgo, the safety of our buyers and sellers is our top priority. To maintain a secure and trustworthy marketplace, Kifgo utilizes automated systems and manual reviews by our Trust & Safety team to monitor messages sent between users on our platform.

Why Does Kifgo Scan Messages?

We scan messages primarily to protect our community from harm. Specifically, we review messages to:

  • Prevent Fraud and Scams: We look for suspicious links or requests for sensitive information (like credit card numbers or passwords).

  • Block Spam: We prevent automated bots and bad actors from flooding sellers' inboxes with unwanted advertising.

  • Stop Harassment: We enforce our community guidelines by blocking messages that contain hate speech, threats, or abusive language.

  • Prevent "Fee Avoidance": To protect buyers under our Purchase Protection program, we monitor for users attempting to take transactions off the Kifgo platform. (Purchases made outside of Kifgo cannot be protected or refunded if something goes wrong).

How Does the Scanning Process Work?

Kifgo uses automated technology to scan incoming and outgoing messages in real-time.

  1. Automated Filters: Our system flags messages that contain suspicious URLs, known phishing phrases, or inappropriate language. If a message violates our policies, it may be automatically blocked from being delivered.

  2. Human Review: If our automated system flags a message as potentially dangerous or highly suspicious, it is escalated to our human Trust & Safety team. A trained Kifgo agent will manually review the message and take appropriate action, which could include permanently suspending the offending account.

Your Privacy is Protected

We understand that your messages are private conversations. Please be assured that Kifgo only scans and reviews messages for security, fraud prevention, and policy enforcement. We do not read your personal messages for marketing purposes, and we never sell the contents of your messages to third parties.
