Can Minors Buy or Sell on Kifgo? (Age Requirements)
Because Kifgo involves legally binding contracts and financial transactions, we have strict age requirements to protect our community.
To create an account and use kifgo.lk, you must be at least 18 years old. Individuals under the age of 18 are considered minors and cannot have their own Kifgo accounts.
However, minors who wish to buy or sell on Kifgo can still do so under the strict supervision of a parent or legal guardian, following the rules below.
Buying as a Minor
If you are under 18 and want to purchase an item on Kifgo:
You must use the account of a parent or legal guardian.
Your parent or guardian must be the one to manage the account, enter the payment information, and oversee the transaction.
You must have their explicit permission to use their account.
Selling as a Minor
We love supporting young entrepreneurs! If you are a minor and want to sell your handmade items on Kifgo, you can do so, provided:
The shop is created, owned, and managed by your parent or legal guardian using their own Kifgo account.
The parent or guardian is responsible for all financial and legal aspects of the shop, including bank account details, taxes, and customer service.
The "About" section of the shop must clearly state that the parent or guardian is running the shop on behalf of the minor.
What happens if a minor creates their own account?
If Kifgo's Trust & Safety team discovers that an account was created by someone under the age of 18, the account will be immediately suspended. Kifgo reserves the right to ask for age verification if we suspect an account belongs to a minor.
